When he retired from HHHunt in 2022 after 32 years, Dan Schmitt embarked on an epic cross-country bikepacking adventure inspired by the true story of the Kon-Tiki expedition.

Covering 4,800 miles from Washington to Maine and then to Boston, MA, Dan raised over $144,000 for Sportable’s mission to make sports accessible and inclusive in Central Virginia for people with physical disabilities.

As the keynote speaker at an event on October 6, presented by HHHunt, Dan is sharing his impressions from his trek across America. His talk will focus on setting and achieving big goals, perseverance, and the goodness of humanity.
